The El Reno High School football team is gearing up for its first game of the season, with a rivalry matchup putting the team up against Chickasha

The Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Porch spoke to members of the team, including head coach Russell Cook, about their preparations for the season.

"You know, this is a big game the guys have been working hard all summer long," Cook said. "Highway 81 Rivalry, it's going to make for some great Friday night lights. We got to keep coming and running the ball and making sure that we can throw the ball when we need to."

However, Cook also said part of the experience is making sure each player understands the value of teamwork.

"[Having] these kids just keep staying positive and working together, that's what's going to be the key," Cook said.
