Huntington North certainly didn’t Friday. The Vikings had a front-row seat as Northrop’s superstar caught two touchdown passes, ran for another, patrolled the secondary on defense and, with the Bruins needing to ice the game in the final minute, played an efficient wildcat quarterback.
The denouement was a 31-23 Northrop victory at Spuller Stadium over a banged-up Huntington North team that spent the fourth quarter playing with its third-string quarterback and third-string running back.
The win leaves Northrop 2-0 for the first time since 2020, with a chance to make it the program’s first 3-0 start since 1983 when the Bruins face North Side next week.
