Midway through the first set it was apparent Montana State was battling opening night jitters, especially with four freshmen on the court. But the Bobcats settled down and finished the set on a 10-3 run, en route to a 25-16, 25-23, 25-19 victory over Prairie View A&M in its opening match of the EVEN Hotel Bobcat Invite Friday night in Shroyer Gym.

“I thought it was a good first match,” said MSU third-year head coach Matt Houk. “It had everything you expect. It had some highs, and it had some lows.
