GRIFFITH — Desmond Neylon doesn’t blame you for not knowing who he is.

But he wants that to change soon.

Primarily a junior varsity player last season at Lake Central, the junior running back and receiver hopes to break out in his first season at Griffith with aspirations of playing college football. He ran for 168 yards and scored three times on 10 carries and caught a pass for three yards in Griffith’s convincing 58-20 win against Munster.

“I want my name to be out there,” Neylon said postgame. “At Lake Central, my name wasn’t really out there. Here I want to put my name on the map.”
