CHENEY, Kan. (KAKE) - Winning the state title in 2023, the Cheney Cardinals firmly established themselves as a threat in Class 3A, but last year's repeat bid came up short at the hands of Andale.

"You always have that in the back of your head to think and remind some of the other guys you know, that feeling, especially as upper classmen, it's a little extra motivation," Cheney senior defensive end and tight end Nolan Durr said.
