CHEYENNE — The Cheyenne Hispanic Festival is coming around again, but this time with more dancing, competitions and Mexican dancing horses, as well as a new name.
The festival has been going on in some capacity for 15 years, and has gone through various changes, including the addition of local dance groups Grupo de Como La Flor and Las Angelitas Unidas y Los Rayos del Sol.
One thing CHISPA (Cheyenne Hispanics Improving Strengthening Powerful Alliances) makes a conscious effort to do every year with the festival is adding new things for the community, along with providing a safe space for everyone to learn about Hispanic culture, regardless of their ethnicity or background.
This is partly why they changed the annual event’s name from the Cheyenne Hispanic Festival to the CHISPA Festival.
