HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The Sandy Creek Cougars won the D1 state championship in 2024.
They graduated their quarterback, Ethan Shaw and yards and touchdowns leader Connor Rempe, but Head Coach Andrew Kuta isn’t concerned about the loss of production.
“We had a tremendous amount of leadership,” said Kuta. “That’s the biggest thing this year, the challenge of replacing that.”
The Cougars won their opening game 56-26 over Johnson-Brock. Next week, they’ll play Exeter-Milligan/Friend at 7 p.m.
