In a game where Auburn football aimed to establish a steady run game, the Tigers successfully rushed for 307 yards in their 38-24 victory against Baylor.

The Tigers averaged 5.9 yards a carry as a team, led by quarterback Jackson Arnold’s 137 yards on the ground and two touchdowns.

“It was working for us,” Auburn coach Hugh Freeze said postgame about the rushing attack. “And our game plan is multiple, because you really don’t know how people are going to play you, and they have different flavors every week. But that’s certainly what we felt like was our best option tonight with what we were getting.”

Auburn’s Damari Alston and Jeremiah Cobb combined for 158 rushing yards and two scores. Alston got his first start with Tigers and averaged 5.3 yards in his 16 total carries.
