Destrehan’s offense is expected to be among the best in the state, and they showed why in a Friday night jamboree matchup against Lutcher.

Destrehan and Lutcher faced off in the second game of the River Parishes jamboree doubleheader at Lutcher High School. A 94-yard kickoff return for a touchdown saw Lutcher tie things up after Destrehan scored first, but it was all Destrehan the rest of the way in a 21-7 win.

Lutcher’s Ashton Stark ran the kickoff back with 4:52 to go in the first half, the first of two 12-minute halves. Destrehan responded quickly after running back Malachi Dabney found the end zone from 56 yards out on the first touch of the following drive.
