Rancho Mirage High School looked like a sleeping giant had snapped out of a slumber on Friday.

Maybe it was the humbling season-opening loss at home on Aug. 21. Maybe it was a matchup with a cross-valley opponent. Maybe the Rattlers' pride had been taken and they desperately wanted it back.

Either way, it was as if a cold glass of water had been splashed in the Rattlers' faces on Friday, leading to an inspiring and thorough 30-7 win over Coachella Valley.
