An incident on the motorway between Coventry and Rugby caused traffic misery for drivers on Saturday morning (30 August). Traffic on the M6 heading north was bought to a complete standstill after a lorry shed its load shortly after 8.30.am.
The spillage is expected to cause problems for drivers passing this section of the motorway. But will likely have an impact on surrounding roads too as motorists seek out alternative routes.
Traffic officers are at the scene and delays a currently expected to be around half an hour, according to National Highways: West Midlands. The agency warned drivers of the incident using social media.
