WETUMPKA − The Bibb Graves Bridge in downtown Wetumpka will be closed Tuesday for repairs.
The work is expected to take a week, and drivers will have to take detours, according to the Alabama Department of Transportation. The bridge was damaged Aug. 15 when a tractor-trailer struck one of its concrete arches.
A signed detour utilizing Alabama 14 and US 231 will be in place. Travelers should expect delays and seek alternate routes, ALDOT says.
ALDOT awarded the contract for repairs to Newell & Bush Inc. out of Montgomery.
