IRON RIVER — The Iron County Genealogical Society will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday in the J. Patrick White conference room at the West Iron District Library in Iron River.

Sept. 2 is the 80th anniversary of VJ Day, which many see as the end of World War II. In honor of this 80th year, the group will be presenting the 112 Iron County men who perished in that great war. The research and exhibit were done by the Iron County Historical and Museum Society.

Sandie Nies will be presenting pictures of the exhibit with their permission. It includes photos, artifacts, information and documents about these brave sons of Iron County who paid the ultimate price for U.S. freedom.

Binders and a journal will be available for viewing and attendees will be able to write a message or a poem in the journal.
