Clean energy, not fossil fuel politics
On Aug. 22, the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management abruptly issued a stop-work order on the Revolution Wind project – already 80 percent complete and vital to Rhode Island’s energy future. This offshore wind farm has undergone nearly a decade of environmental review, received all necessary permits, and was set to power more than 350,000 homes with reliable, clean energy.
The order cites vague “national security concerns,” but offers no evidence.
