DES MOINES, Iowa —

The summer warmth will stick around for at least one more day across the state heading into the holiday weekend. Rain chances return by the afternoon, increasing into Sunday with cooler weather on the way next week.

Another mild start across the state this morning with temperatures in the upper 50s and low 60s along with partly cloudy skies. We'll see some sunshine through the morning hours helping to warm temperatures back into the 80s by this afternoon. Just like the past couple of days, clouds will build during the afternoon with scattered showers developing as we by the late afternoon and evening hours.
