It’s been a blue ribbon kind of week for Macomb County schools.
Not only has the International Academy of Macomb (IAM) been named the number one high school in Michigan by the US News and World Report but Macomb County’s State Assessment Results (M-STEP and SAT/PSAT) reflect increased results in many areas including English proficiency.
“We’re very excited,” said Alesia Flye, chief academic officer for Macomb Intermediate School District. “Our educational community continues to work very hard and we are getting results.”
As for the IAM title?
“That’s definitely a point of pride for our entire Macomb community,” Flye said. “The school’s community is pretty diverse and with a wide range of needs and this shows that the school is doing an excellent job of meeting those needs.”
