HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — The state Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a fatal fire that happened in Huntington Friday evening.

Emergency calls about the fire came in at about 6:20 p.m. Flames were showing when Huntington firefighters arrived on the scene in the 2900 of Waverly Road in Huntington.

Authorities said live power lines fell onto a metal fence which made it difficult to get close to the burning house.

The body of a man inside the home was recovered later in the evening.

No word yet on what started the blaze. The name of the victim has also not been released.
