The Crow Wing County DFL Booth was out again, on Aug. 16, this time at the Crosby Heritage Days Festival, talking to folks and listening to their opinions and concerns for our state and country ahead of the 2026 election year. Our Straw Poll asked about visitors’ agreement on three statements: 1) “I’m noticing the effects of inflation in my family’s budget;” 2) “Governor Walz should run for a 3rd term as Minnesota Governor;” 3) “Comprehensive health care should be available to all as a human right.”

On Statement 1, the inflation issue, 82% of respondents agreed that, yes, inflation is becoming an issue for them. On Statement 2, the candidacy of Tim Walz for a third term, 64% of respondents would like to see him run again, while 19% remain undecided, at least until other possible candidate
