SALT LAKE CITY – A semitruck hauling Tesla auto parts rolled on Interstate 80 near Skull Valley Friday, closing down westbound lanes of the interstate.
Sgt. Andy Battenfield with the Utah Highway Patrol said the semitruck overcorrected and rolled near mile marker 77, then caught fire Friday afternoon.
Battenfield said the semitruck was hauling Tesla auto parts when the crash occurred.
The driver of the semitruck reportedly had “a few bumps and bruises,” but was otherwise unharmed.
Battenfield said drivers would need to exit I-80 at exit 84. Battenfield said authorities were hopeful to get at least one lane opened shortly.
