GARLAND, Utah – As a miles-long procession made its way through Box Elder County on Friday carrying the body of Tremonton Garland Police Sgt. Lee Sorensen, community members lined both sides of the road to pay their respects.
Sorensen was shot and killed Aug. 17 along with Officer Eric Estrada while responding to a domestic violence call in Tremonton.
Following Sorensen’s funeral on Friday, a lengthy procession made its way to the East Garland Cemetery. During the final stretch, a horse-drawn carriage led the way, bringing Sorensen’s body to be laid to rest.
