A TOP US rockstar has been forced to quit his band's tour after a health condition made playing "nearly impossible."

The drummer's medical woe came to light in a post uploaded to the group's social media page - which also revealed his replacement prior to the first live show.

Shaun Foist, best known for his role in hit makers Breaking Benjamin, has vowed to "play drums again" despite his battle with Hashimoto's disease.

The health issue, also known as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, is an autoimmune condition where the body’s immune system attacks the thyroid gland.

Over time, this can lead to an underactive thyroid meaning the gland doesn’t produce enough hormones to regulate key body functions.
