Aug. 29—A driver was sent to the hospital Friday morning after their SUV crashed on westbound U.S. 36 near Superior.

At 10:24 a.m., the Colorado State Patrol responded to the crash involving only one SUV west of the Superior exit, according to CSP spokesperson Sherri Mendez. The extent of the driver's injuries was unknown.

The crash backed up traffic until all lanes were open at 10:52 a.m., Mendez said.

In a social media post, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office took the opportunity to warn those going to the University of Colorado's first football game Friday night to be extra careful while driving.
