A 6-year-old, 4-year-old and a 37-year-old believed to be the children's parent died after a Honda Civic hit the Chevrolet Malibu they were traveling in while stopped at a red light.

The crash happened at the intersection of Montcalm Road and Joslyn Road in the City of Pontiac, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.

A 9-year-old also traveling in the Malibu is in critical condition at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital in Royal Oak, as of Saturday, Aug. 30, according to police.

The 21-year-old Pontiac driver of the Civic is in stable condition at Trinity Health Oakland Hospital, according to Oakland County Sheriff's Office.
