A teacher with the Cabarrus County School District is under arrest, facing charges of statutory sex offense of a child and indecent liberties with a minor.

John Calabrese, 39, was arrested Thursday after police received a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Cabarrus County Schools says he was suspended Thursday afternoon. He’s served as an employee since Aug. 17, 2022 at Northwest Cabarrus High School.

Calabrese is being held without bond.
