COLVILLE, Wash. – The lightning-caused Grande Fire is burning 22 acres large about twelve miles north of Colville.
The fire was first reported on August 25 and was only a few acres large. Fire crews lined the fire, but a fire spot jumped the line to the south and it grew to 22 acres.
Crews are working on more in-depth fire grids today and the fire is currently 30% contained.
A number of lightning strikes in the region caused small fires overnight, so crews will be working on attack operations in the region throughout the day.
No evacuation orders are in place.
