WEST, Texas (KWTX) - In its 49th year, Westfest is underway this Labor Day Weekend.

12 bands and 40 hours of polka music will keep visitors entertained!

We’re told the weekend event takes about 2 weeks just to set up! With a carnival, arts and crafts, food vendors, and entertainment there’s plenty to pick from.

It draws in quite a crowd!

“We’re usually right around 20,000 people for a weekend for a community with roughly 2,500 people that’s a lot of outside guests that come in. We do Westfest to show outside communities what we’re able to do here,” Ryan Kolar, Director of Entertainment for Westfest said.

Westfest was created to give back to the community while honoring the city’s Czech heritage.
