SUMTER, S.C. — Sumter Police are searching for a woman after her family asked that they check in on her.

The family told police that they had last been in contact with 59-year-old Diane Rene Brown, who previously lived on Maxwell Street, a few weeks prior. The family had asked the police to ensure she was OK.

At this point, police believe Brown may have moved to a neighboring state, but police are working with other agencies to verify this information. In the meantime, police urge anyone who has seen her or knows how to contact her to call the Sumter Police at 803-436-2700 or the nearest law enforcement agency.
