A rare late-August cold snap is bringing unusually low temperatures and potential frost to parts of Pennsylvania, with morning temperatures dipping into the upper 30s and low 40s across the region.

A frost advisory is in effect until 9 a.m. Saturday for McKean and Potter counties.

For most of the day, however, the National Weather Service forecasts sunny skies with low humidity and lower than usual temperatures.

Daytime highs will range from the low to mid-60s, with light northeast winds around 5 mph. The dry, cool air mass will create conditions more reminiscent of late September than August.
