DOUGLAS COUNTY, Kan. (KAKE) - A pilot is OK after his plane overran a runway at a northeast Kansas airport and hit a tree.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says the incident occurred around 2:40 a.m. Saturday just north of Baldwin City. Investigators say that the 1978 Cessna single-engine fixed-wing plane " landed long and failed to stop on the runway." The plane then crossed a roadway before hitting the tree.
