NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested a woman in connection with a deadly hit-and-run that killed a child on Aug. 13 after investigators determined a different vehicle was responsible.

Deputies were called to Northshore Lane shortly before 6 p.m. on Aug. 13 after a child riding a scooter in his driveway was struck by a passing vehicle. The driver fled the scene. The child’s mother took him to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Family identified the boy as 6-year-old Jeremiah Ramirez.
