ST. JOHN — A motorcycle accident claimed the life of a 55-year-old Crown Point man overnight.

The Lake County Coroner's Office reported that the man, identified as Raymond Colburn, sustained multiple blunt force trauma injuries in the crash at Blaine Street and 96th Avenue. Emergency room physicians at Franciscan Hospital in Crown Point pronounced him dead at 12:14 a.m.

Authorities, including the St. John Police Department, EMS and Fire Department, responded to the scene. A forensic autopsy is scheduled for Monday at the Lake County Forensic Center.
