Kentucky football leaned on that formula Saturday. Breaking in a new quarterback for the third time in as many seasons, UK's offense slogged through an uneven afternoon against Toledo . But while the Wildcats ' offense found its footing, the defense held down the fort.
UK's defensive efforts were enough to earn a victory in the season opener, holding off Toledo, 24-16, at Kroger Field .
The Wildcats' new signal caller in question, Zach Calzada , was responsible for the game's first score, keeping it himself on a 1-
