AMES — When sophomore kicker Kyle Konrardy talks, Iowa State coach Matt Campbell listens.
Konrardy has proven his ability to step up in a big moment. Last season, he made a walk-off 54-yard field goal to beat rival Iowa . So, with 11 seconds left in the first half of ISU’s 55-7 win against South Dakota , Campbell called a timeout to talk to his kicker.
ISU was at its own 48-yard line. Did Konrardy feel comfortable kicking a long field goal?

“(Campbell) basically just said do you want to kick it?” Konrardy said. “I was like ‘Of course.’ And he’s like, 'F it, let’s kick it.'”
Konrardy self-censored Campbell's quote, but made it clear Campbell said the full thing. Perhaps that shows the confidence Camp
