COWETA COUNTY, Ga. — A woman was airlifted to the hospital, and a 42-year-old man is in custody after a family dispute turned violent Saturday at a Coweta County home, according to the sheriff's office.

The law enforcement agency posted about the incident on Facebook just after 7:30 p.m.

It occurred at a home on Wedgewood Circle, where deputies were called to the residence for a family dispute.

When they arrived, the suspect and victims went into the home where the suspect allegedly shot the woman multiple times. The victim was life-flighted to Grady Hospital. Coweta County Sheriff's deputies said in an update on Tuesday that the woman was in "stable condition."
