It’s been one week since comedian Henry Cruz was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in downtown Dallas.

On Saturday, his loved ones and fellow comedians came together at Shark’s Comedy Club to honor his life through laughter.

“Tonight it’s all about laughter, sharing funny memories and jokes,” said Noah Robertson of Shark’s Comedy Club. “Henry loved to make people laugh and loved to make people smile and Henry would love to see people laugh and smile in his honor.”

Noah Robertson booked the 29-year-old for his first comedy show.

“He really wanted people to forget their problems on and off the stage,” Robertson said.

Robertson was also with Cruz during his final moments.
