FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A person was hospitalized after being shot in Fresno Saturday evening, the Fresno County Sheriff's Office announced.

Around 9 p.m., deputies responded to several calls regarding a shooting in the 300 block of E. Gettysburg Avenue, in Fig Garden.

Responding deputies say they found a victim who had been shot and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. They were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Investigators did not confirm if the two individuals involved knew each other or if any arrests were made.

Detectives are actively working to determine the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
