The California Highway Patrol Saturday issued a Silver Alert to help the Los Angeles Police Department locate an at-risk 59-year-old man missing from Van Nuys.

Jorge Mejia was last seen about 2:20 p.m. Saturday around Van Nuys Boulevard and Huston Street, according to the CHP.

He is Hispanic, 5 feet, 3 inches tall, 145 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, last seen wearing a dark blue shirt, blue jeans and black sandals, the CHP stated. Mejia is believed to be on foot.

Anyone with information on Mejia’s whereabouts was asked to call 911.

A Silver Alert is activated when an elderly or developmentally or cognitively impaired person is missing and determined to be at risk to aid in their swift recovery.
