Louisiana's Old State Capitol has entered its contemporary era as it celebrates its 175th anniversary.
That's not saying friendship bracelets in the colors of stained glass will be available at the entrance of its newest exhibit, "Contemporary Views of the Castellated Capitol," or stage lights flashing to the beat of a particular pop singer's hit, "Shake It Up."
In fact, there's no music piped into this quiet space, but there is plenty of color and energy portraying the Old Capitol through the eyes of more than 20 Louisiana artists through Sept. 20.
