TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily) -- The Victory Bell rang out, but there was nary a smile to be seen.
Arizona State, the defending Big 12 Conference champions and the 11th ranked team in the nation, had just won their season opener, beating a quality NAU program 38-19. Yet the vibe was anything but cheerful, as the Sun Devils had just slogged through a sloppy night defined as much by their mistakes as the victory.
“We gotta hone in on it all,” said ASU head coach Kenny Dillingham of his team’s miscues.
