The Columbia-White Salmon football team has 30 players on its roster this fall, half of whom are incoming freshmen with limited experience.
That forced the Bruins to make some tough decisions this offseason, but head coach Shawn Friese also sees an opportunity for his young players to grow and learn.
And there’s no better player to learn from than senior Humberto Pulido.
Pulido is beginning his fourth year with the program, and he’s setting a great example for his younger teammates to follow, Friese said.
“He’s an athlete that lives in the weight room,” Friese said. “He’s in the weight room all year long. He hasn’t missed a single day all summer. Even after he injured his finger this summer, he was still attending all of our weight sessions throughout July, even if he couldn’t do a lot
