WARNER AT WORLDS: Damian Warner will take another shot at the one decathlon title that has eluded him in his career.
The 35-year-old is one of four London Western track and field club standouts who will take part in the World Athletics Championships Sept. 13-21 in Tokyo, Japan. Warner has won every major combined-event gold medal except for the outdoor worlds, but this event will be held at the Olympic stadium where he set the meet record (9,018 points) four years ago.
Warner is no stranger to the world podium. He has two previous silver medals (2023, 2015) and two bronze medals (2019, 2013) and is looking to rebound after failing to finish at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
