Geddes, N.Y. — A man was arrested early Sunday after State Police said he slashed a co-worker with a knife during an argument at a food stand at the New York State Fair.

Around 12:53 a.m., troopers responded to Santillo’s Sausage where two employees got into a verbal altercation while closing up for the night, said State Police spokesperson Jennifer Jiron.

During the argument, Branden J. Brown, 25, of York, Pennsylvania, slashed his co-worker in the cheek with a culinary knife, Jiron said.

The victim was taken to Upstate University Hospital for treatment.

Jiron said Brown fled before troopers arrived at the food stand, but was later found and taken into custody without incident.

Brown was charged with second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both felonie
