BLOOMINGTON — It became a point of pride for Curt Cignetti that, as last season built toward its historic crescendo, he could pass each week still happily pointing out his team had never trailed.

Not until Week 9 (Nov. 2, 2024, to be precise) at Michigan State could Cignetti’s Indiana football team look up at a scoreboard and find themselves with fewer points than their opponent.
