BOSTON — First baseman Nathaniel Lowe is back in the Red Sox lineup Sunday, after sitting yesterday in his return from paternity leave.

Masataka Yoshida remains in the DH spot despite batting .232 with a .629 OPS in 34 games (124 plate appearances).

The Red Sox will try to salvage the final game of their three-game series against the Pirates. First pitch is scheduled for 1:35 p.m. Boston lost 4-2 on Friday and 10-3 on Saturday .

Boston signed Lowe on Aug. 17 after the Nationals released him. He’s 8-for-27 (.296) with a .375 on-base percentage, one homer, two doubles, four walks and seven RBIs in nine games.
