Calgary Pride is hitting the streets to celebrate the cultural landscape and history of the 2SLGBTQ+ community with the 35th annual Pride Parade on Sunday.

It begins at 11 a.m. and starts on 9 Avenue SE from Studio Bell to 5 Street SW.

While Calgarians are encouraged to head down to take part in the celebrations, roads in the area will be closed until 3 p.m.

Those include 9 Avenue from 8 Street SE in Inglewood to 11 Street SW in the downtown west end until 3 p.m., 8 Street SE to 3 Street SW–including multiple streets in East Village–from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., and 3 Street SW to 11 Street SW from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The parade marshals for the 35th parade are Kalyn Macaskill and Stephani Clements from the Calgary Public Teachers’ Local 38 of the Alberta Teachers’ Association, and Nia Delafl
