(FOX40.COM) — Three people were found dead with gunshot wounds on Sunday in Carmichael, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office.

SCSO said deputies responded to reports of an apartment getting shot up around 7 a.m. at the Mercy Housing facility on El Camino Avenue.

Deputies arrived to find three people shot to death inside the home.

SCSO said deputies are writing a warrant to retrieve surveillance footage from the facility.

Homicide detectives are on scene investigating the incident.
