CINCINNATI —

Cincinnati police say that two people are dead and two others are in critical condition after a shooting occurred in Mt. Washington Sunday afternoon.

According to CPD, it happened around 1:30 p.m. at an apartment building on the 1500 block of Beacon Street. Advertisement

Police said that officers were stationed nearby when the shooting occurred, and witnessed the incident as it unfolded.

"When our officers arrived a few moments later, they observed four individuals being shot," said Lt. Jonathan Cunningham of the Cincinnati Police Department. "Of the four individuals, we do know that the shooter shot himself and attempted to take his own life."

Cunningham continued by offering his sympathies for those involved in the incident.

"Truly, a tragedy today," said Cunningham.
