The PSNI statement came after reports that the West Belfast UDA had pulled out of a deal to stop attacks on a mixed housing development.

Sinn Féin’s John Finucane said the situation is “outrageous and totally unacceptable”.

It is understood four Catholic families living in the estate have been told to leave immediately.
