SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio -- After 24 years of masterful work often in the background at City Hall, retiring Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Jeri Chakin moved to the forefront during her last regular council meeting on Aug. 25.
The accolades included a resolution of appreciation from council, a proclamation from Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne and a standing ovation from the crowd.
“The most enjoyable thing for me here today is to have Jeri front and center,” Mayor David Weiss said. “She’s usually behind the scenes, so this is a great turnaround.”
Councilwoman and Vice Mayor Carmella Williams read the city’s resolution, further thanking Chaikin for her “patience, wisdom, experience and care -- and all of the little things you’ve done for the people of Shaker.”
