The Buffalo Bills have reportedly lost one of their young defensive tackles for the season.
On Sunday night, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that DeWayne Carter suffered a torn Achilles and would miss the 2025 season.
Carter, 24, was selected by the Bills in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft. As a rookie, Carter appeared in 11 games and recorded three starts for Buffalo. He recorded 14 total tackles (5 TFL) and three quarterback hits.
He likely would have taken on a larger role last season, but he suffered a wrist injury in Week 7 against the Tennessee Titans that required surgery. A stint on the injured reserve halted any momentum that Carter had built early in the season.
Carter had a quiet 2025 training camp and preseason, but once again made the team’s 53-man roster. Cart
